Hope For the Children of Haiti HFC Update
November 13, 2010
Let us give thanks! If anyone has taught me how to enter his gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, it has been the Haitian people. Too many times I find myself giving thanks for all the things in my life or even loved ones but what happens when those are taken away or when you realize they could be at any time?

I have been in a crowded church service surrounded by Haitians who are giving thanks for the most important thing and that is Jesus Christ and the salvation we have through Him. It is an encouragement to me as I enter this thanksgiving and advent season. May you also be encouraged.

We have been thankful that the orphanage and school have survived both the cholera outbreak and the recent Hurricane Tomas. We have 327 children enrolled in the Marion Austin Christian School with 36 of those children on full scholarship and the rest attending based on only registration fees. We still need your help to raise additional funds to support these children.
2010 Christmas CardPart of the way you can help is to tell family and friends about HFC's ministry to children in Haiti by ordering our HFC Christmas Cards, featuring artwork by Emmanuel who is 19 years old and has been at HFC for the past 13 years. Proceeds from the card sales will go directly to the Christmas fund. On the back of each card is information about HFC and our vision so you can help by spreading the word each time you send a card.

A set of 10 cards is $16 which includes shipping and handling in the U.S. Checks can be made payable to: Hope for the Children of Haiti, 21 Cummings Park, Suite 278, Woburn, MA 01801. Please include in the memo line "Christmas Cards" and indicate the quantity desired. Details can be seen on our website at www.hfchaiti.org.

If you wish to send an HFC child a Christmas gift, we ask that you please consider giving directly to the Christmas fund which will allow us to make sure that all the children are able to receive a gift at Christmas. Personalized cards and correspondence are welcome and can be sent to our office. They need to be received by us by December 8th in order to be sent down in time for Christmas. Please do not send gifts for the children to the office.

God Bless!

Prayer Requests

·  Prayer for the upcoming elections at the end of this month.

Praise the Lord for being our Fortress, Stronghold and Deliverer and for His protection of all our children.

·  That God would provide new opportunities to rebuild Haiti for His glory.

·  That Haitians would unite in peace and solidarity of purpose to rebuild Haiti.

·  That gangs would lay down their arms for tools to join the rebuilding.

·   There would be a spiritual awakening in Haiti and among those who are moved to help.

·   That God would protect and strengthen our missionaries and interns on the ground, Mark and Marsha Romens, Jamie Birney, and Cecelia Osowski.

·   That God would quickly unite the adoptive children of HFC and New Life Link (NLL) with their waiting families.

·   That the leadership of HFC would be united as they undergo a discernment process regarding our role in rebuilding Haiti and the future of our non-adoptive children.

·   That the Lord would continue to protect our children and secure the buildings from further damage.

·   That Dr. Bernard and Claudette would be strengthened and renewed that they would not grow weary as they deal with this tragedy on the ground.

·   That God would renew His call on each of us and strengthen us to do His work, wherever He calls.
