Hope For the Children of Haiti HFC Update

First of all, thank you to all of our supporters who keep this ministry going. Currently, we have some very specific ministry needs. Please read over the list below to see if you may be able to help in these ways or know someone who can.
  • As Dr. Bernard and Claudette are looking toward retiring from their position with HFC, we are looking for a Haitian couple to fill the Director role in Haiti. For a detailed job description, please email Tara Kasey
  • We have a family who has adopted a child from HFC who has expressed the following need, "We are in a very difficult situation with our older child adopted from HFC. Due to her emotional and behavioral issues, we are seeking a family where she is either the only child or the siblings are grown. We have exhausted every resource to keep her in our home, but at this time it is no longer an option. Our daughter is currently a junior in high school and has many great qualities. She does well in school and is very social. We are praying for an individual or couple who would commit to long-term guardianship of our daughter (or possibly readoption) at least until she finished high school. She has many challenges and struggles emotionally and would require a family who is familiar with trauma related behavior issues."   • We are also in need of a larger storage/sorting facility where we can keep donated goods collected by food/material drives. Our current donated space is too small to have a good sorting system. The ideal space would be close to Woburn or Littleton, MA
 
We also need prayer for Dr. Bernard who has been having severe back pain for several months and for our intern, Jamie Birney, who has lost both of his grandmothers in the last couple of weeks.

Prayer Requests

·  Praise the Lord for being our Fortress, Stronghold and Deliverer and for His protection of all our children. 

·  That from this tragedy God would provide new opportunities to rebuild Haiti for His glory.

·  That Haitians would unite in peace and solidarity of purpose to rebuild Haiti.

·  That gangs would lay down their arms for tools to join the rebuilding.

·   There would be a spiritual awakening in Haiti and among those who are moved to help. 

·   That God would protect and strengthen all the aid workers faced with so much tragedy (specifically Keziah Furth, a former HFC Intern and nurse).

·   That God would quickly unite the adoptive children of HFC and New Life Link (NLL) with their waiting families. 

·   That the leadership of HFC would be united as they undergo a discernment process regarding our role in rebuilding Haiti and the future of our non-adoptive children.

·   That the Lord would continue to protect our children and secure the buildings from further damage.

·   That Dr. Bernard and Claudette would be strengthened and renewed that they would not grow weary as they deal with this tragedy on the ground.

·   That God would renew His call on each of us and strengthen us to do His work, wherever He calls.
