Hope For the Children of Haiti HFC Update
May 4, 2010
Join us for the HFC Annual Spring Reunion Event!
on Saturday, May 22nd from 3:00-5:00pm at Hope Christian Church in Winchester, MA

This year is an exciting year to get together and celebrate what God is doing through the ministry of HFC. As several children have been adopted since the earthquake, we would like to have a reunion time where the children will be able to connect with supporters and their HFC brothers and sisters.

Join us for a great time of sharing, fellowship, and food. Please bring a dish to share. One of the goals of the event will be to raise money to support the ministry, but we hope everyone can join us regardless of their ability to contribute financially. Email your RSVP to tara.kasey@hfchaiti.org.

See you there!
You can help us reduce our costs by updating your contact information and selecting electronic delivery for HFC mailings and receipts. Go to www.hfchaiti.org/emailme to fill out our online form.
Update 5/4/2010
Jean Soucy, Rick Garcia, and Don Lampron will be going to Haiti on May 10th, returning on May 15th. They will be doing upgrades and repairs to the kitchen. Please keep them in your prayers as they travel.

Several of the children have written their thoughts following the earthquake, we will be sharing them with you periodically through our email updates.

"I came back from school at 2:00 p.m. I was very tired. I couldn't even eat dinner. I left my food on the table and I went to my bedroom to take a nap in the basement. I heard a tumult. I thought it was a hurricane. When the house started to shake, I realized it was an earthquake. I went outside and I saw the boys were already in the street. I saw people crying and the houses collapsed. I thought it was the end of the world. I prayed in my heart. After that we went to the campus of U.E.H. There we stayed for many days. I want to let everybody know that if I am not dead, it is by the grace of God, because where I was in the basement, if the house collapsed, I would be dead anyway. Praise the Lord that I am alive! God has a plan for me and this incident has driven me closer to Him."

Prayer Requests

·  Praise the Lord for being our Fortress, Stronghold and Deliverer and for His protection of all our children.

·  That from this tragedy God would provide new opportunities to rebuild Haiti for His glory.

·  That Haitians would unite in peace and solidarity of purpose to rebuild Haiti.

·  That gangs would lay down their arms for tools to join the rebuilding.

·   There would be a spiritual awakening in Haiti and among those who are moved to help.

·   That God would protect and strengthen all the aid workers faced with so much tragedy (specifically Keziah Furth, a former HFC Intern and nurse).

·   That God would quickly unite the adoptive children of HFC and New Life Link (NLL) with their waiting families.

·   That the leadership of HFC would be united as they undergo a discernment process regarding our role in rebuilding Haiti and the future of our non-adoptive children.

·   That the Lord would continue to protect our children and secure the buildings from further damage.

·   That Dr. Bernard and Claudette would be strengthened and renewed that they would not grow weary as they deal with this tragedy on the ground.

·   That God would renew His call on each of us and strengthen us to do His work, wherever He calls.
