Letter from the HTP Program Director

Dear Healing Touch Community,
2012 has been a turning point year for Healing Touch Program. Our professional standing in the world of health care and in the promising field of energy medicine has catapulted forward, opening new and more doors to Healing Touch Certified Practitioners (HTCPs). First, HTP achieved the gold standard national accreditation with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in March of 2011, making us the first (and so far only) professional exclusively energy medicine continuing education program to ever achieve this accomplishment. This year, a major focus has been to finish the necessary tasks to complete our application for a second national accreditation to the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). We anticipate submitting the application by January 2013. It is not possible to describe the amount of effort and hours from both staff and HTCP/I volunteers who have made this application process possible.  HTP is very excited to announce Karen Drucker 's inspirational songs and motivational words are now part of Healing Touch Store!
Karen was a huge hit at the recent HT Worldwide Conference. In addition to her inspiring workshop, she also provided witty, uplifting and very funny entertainment that involved some of the HT community at the banquet dinner.
 Karen, an accomplished singer, writer and speaker, participates in workshops as a leader of new thought and healing. As a consciously active creator, in her own right, she has received an Honorary Doctorate of Music for her work in Religious Science Community among other awards and recognitions. | Important ANCC Update for all HTP Instructors | |
 ANCC has updated their forms and requirements for 2013. All Instructors and Instructors In Training are required to submit the new 2013 Conflict of Interest Form. Look for an email on October 1st with the information.

| HTP Employee Update |  In January of this year, Rachal Fries joined HTP at the office in San Antonio. Rachal is responsible for the accounting functions of payroll, deposits, reconciliations and taxes. She studied accounting at the University of Texas at San Antonio and loves number crunching. San Antonio has been home for Rachal for 37 years and she loves spending lots of quality time with her husband, Jay and four kids, Garrett, Emilie, Jackson & Mitchell. |

HEALING TOUCH POTLUCK/SOCIAL IN BOULDER

I genuinely missed being at the HT Conference this year. I've met so many new people since taking on more coordinating work with Cynthia Hutchison and several other instructors. I especially enjoyed Cynthia's Shadowcliff Retreat and starting my Coordinator Network, so I really felt like I was missing something by not being at the Healing Touch Worldwide Conference in San Antonio, TX.
But I made up for it a bit by hosting an HT Potluck Social in the park behind my home at the same time the Banquet Dinner was going on in San Antonio, TX. We had such fun! People got to meet other HT students from different levels and share information. We enjoyed great homemade food and played HT Trivia (with prizes)! It was so successful, I'm thinking about doing another social and possibly an Intro class in early December - indoors, of course!

Bird Energy

 I was given an opportunity to work with bird energy. Cream Puff, our cat, had a little bird that was still alive. At first the bird looked dead, lying on its side on the carpet in my house. As my cat sat back to watch, the bird rolled onto its feet and stayed very still. That is when I knew the bird was alive and that I was going to rescue it.
I took the bird outside and held it in my hand with a leather glove. I grounded and centered myself as I do before every healing session. I held the bird in my hand. At first I thought that I would put the bird in a tree, but it was quite ruffled and stunned. It was not moving its head. The only way that I could tell that it was alive was that its eyes were blinking sometimes, even though they were almost completely closed.
I continued to hold the bird in my hand. I could feel my palms getting warm as they do when I give a healing session to a person. I tried to encourage the bird to leave my hand and sit in a pot with a tomato plant. The bird seemed to like sitting in my hand. As I watched, it started moving its head back and forth very slowly and not very far at first. Soon its head was rotating more rapidly, smoothly and farther in each direction. At the same time, the bird's eyes opened wider and wider while the blinking increased to a rapid speed.
As I held the bird in my hand, I focused entirely on the bird's energy body. I used the Laser technique to direct the healing energy across the tiny body. I felt the bird's energy in my hand. The energy felt different from a human's energy. When the bird was crouched in my hand, I felt pins and needles deeply and intensely, as I do when I feel pain in a human. What was different was that the pain occupied a very small space on my hand - about half the length of my fingers across all four of my fingers. The energy of the pain felt duller and almost dark gray rather than a light bright color. Small energy - not big energy. I could tell that the pain was intense, dense, and highly concentrated.
This experience was fascinating - a wonderful lesson in energy healing for me. This experience felt timeless, as all my healing experiences do. By the clock, my experience with the bird probably lasted thirty to forty minutes. My immense reward was when I smelled something stinky (like a dirty diaper), watched the bird take two steps on my fingers, and then gracefully fly to a nearby tree. The bird had pooped on my finger before it left me.
I am happy to report that I have not seen the bird with my cats since then. I have seen a similar small bird sitting in a nearby blue spruce tree singing beautifully.

When you apply to the Community Connections Volunteer Bank there is no commitment for a specific service project, but when your application is approved it makes you eligible to choose to participate when a project is offered that you would like to be part of. Community Connections is a collection of volunteer opportunities offering active participation to the general HT Community and specifically to HTPA members.
