We've got the Whole Wide World in our Hands!
Greetings!

As HTPA advances into its 5th Growth Year, we truly get the sense that we have no boundaries, no limitations. With YOU, the sole reason for our existence - we continue to expand in numbers; strength; confidence and confirmation. As we grow HTPA worldwide with nearly unlimited opportunities for active participation, we also grow our Voice, Community and TOGETHER, we increase our ability to heal ourselves and our planet.

Be sure to read below how we are creating the way for you to participate in the Global Coherence Initiative and HTPA's Global Care Room - another opportunity to BE INVOLVED!

htpa pic 1 If you want to have a GREAT time and not regret a moment spent = please get a 2014 calendar and save the date to attend the next Worldwide Healing Touch Conference. Those of us who attended this year are still RAVING about how wonderful it was. The 2014 Program is already being designed and the goal is to top this year's for nurturing, fun, education and inspiration (if that is even possible!). Now that you have an extra year to plan and save up, do give yourself a wonderful gift and come join in Community - August 2014, Chicago Illinois (the exact dates TBA soon). You will not regret it!!

A main focus this year for HTPA, is the development of Volunteer Service through our Community Connections, be sure to check out the 2012 Annual Report (see link below) to read more about our Volunteer Bank and/or find out more on the HTPA website. Another HTPA focus is to develop closer relationships with organizations that we already have joined with but now to be more collaborative, increasing our Voice together in main stream, strengthening our mutual goals and sharing resources. To that end, we shared time at Conference with Denise Premschak, CEO of Voice for Hope and we have her scheduled for our "Live" Interview Call September 11 at 9pm Eastern (see the promo below for Registration link).

At Conference, we also reached out to HeartMath to request closer ties, membership in their Global Coherence Initiative and the creation of our own Global Care Room for all in our HT Community who want to join in (see more about this below). HeartMath's mission "to help establish heart-based living and global coherence by inspiring people to connect with the intelligence and guidance of their own hearts," makes it a natural fit with HTPA members and the HT Sharon Robbins Community. We hope you will join us as we delve into the next evolution of our "work."

TOGETHER, We are the Heart

of Healing Touch,

Sharon Robbins, RN, HN-BC, CCHt, HTCP, HTPA Executive Director

New Benefits Report

Announcing a New Member Category - On-Going Membership

  HTPA Pin

We have opened up a new membership category that will allow members to pay for their membership on a monthly recurring payment of only $10 per month.

  • We know that many of our students and practitioners would LVE to be a member of Healing Touch Professional Association (HTPA)
  • We know they want to be part of the exciting things HTPA is involved in and they know that their dollars will help to spread Healing Touch around the world.
  • We know that our members benefit from the support that HTPA offers to help grow their profession and expand their local Healing Touch Community.
  • We know that it is sometimes hard to come up with the membership dues at the time you would like to join.

....so we thought we could make being an HTPA member simple with an On-Going Membership Plan.

Organizational Collaboration

It is a 2012 Focus of HTPA to develop closer relationships with organizations that we already have joined with but now to be more collaborative, increasing our Voice together in main stream, strengthening our mutual goals and sharing resources.

We are joining HeartMath's Global Coherence Initiative (GCI) and will soon establish our HTPA Care Room.

Free Membership is Available to All through HTPA.

During the HeartMath presentation at the recent Worldwide Healing Touch Conference in San Antonio, Rollin McCraty introduced us to their Global Coherence Initiative (GCI) which is "a science-based, co-creative project to unite people in heart-focused care and intention, to facilitate the shift in global consciousness from instability and discord to balance, cooperation and enduring peace." Rollin is the Global Coherence Monitoring System project coordinator. Membership in the GCI is Free and HTPA will soon provide access to GCI membership on our website. Presently there are 46,056 members. We'll see if we can significantly increase that number.

Rollin also told us about how GCI members around the world gather in a special place on the GCI Web site for synchronized heart coherence sessions. They do this either individually or together in Global Care Rooms. The Global Care Room has three daily sessions during which participants focus heart care and compassion on a situation or issue somewhere on Earth. Wherever there is a need such as a natural disaster, war, poverty or other states of incoherence, GCI broadcasts an alert for a special Care Focus. Members send love and compassion to these areas of focus. HTPA is in the process of working with HeartMath to establish our own designated Global Care Room. As soon as this is set we will send out an announcement.

HTPA September Business Support "LIve" Interview

Denise Premschak Tuesday, September 11, 2012 ~ 9:00 PM Eastern

"Voice for HOPE - Healers of Planet Earth - What, Why and How?"  Interview with Denise Lewis Premschak, CEO of Voice for HOPE

HTPA has made a commitment to become more closely aligned with the organizations that we have established relationships with in the past so that we can strengthen our ties, build more rapport, exchange useful information, utilize our databases to help each other inform our members and the general public about who we are and what we do, take more advantage of each others resources and specifically create a louder Voice for our HT Community.  Voice for HOPE is one such organization that has the values, commitment, determination and high professional standards similar to HTPA. At the recent 2012 HT Worldwide Conference in San Antonio, Denise joined us and gave a 4 minute introduction to HOPE but we have so much more to share, learn and talk about which we intend to do during this Interview.

"The Mission of Voice for HOPE is to advance the well-being of humanity by ensuring that producers, practitioners, and consumers of complementary, alternative and integrative health and wellness services and products have meaningful participation in the development of public policy, through educating policy makers and the general public and promoting the rights of individual consumers and their families to information, access, redress and choice."

Denise will tell us more about just what the Goals of HOPE are; what they are doing to secure "freedom to choose your path to wellness" and how we can participate. To be a socially involved business/private practice professional you need to be informed about how to protect your right to practice and then be empowered to accurately inform your clients. This Interview will give you the information you need to do that.

"It is imperative that all consumers and practitioners of integrative and complementary services unite and speak out! Policymakers are currently engaged in crucial debates on health care finance and reform." Denise will inform us as to how we can get involved. She will even guide us to tips on how to write an effective letter to Congress and where to find their e-mail addresses

YOU can Be a Voice for HOPE - to become a HOPE Partner/Member is Free but there are also many other Partner/Member Levels to consider if you would like to support their efforts to protect "freedom" of healthcare choice and/or attend a HOPE on the HILL Training (the training will be explained during the interview but you can visit their website for more information now at www.VoiceforHope.org). Please join us for this opportunity to learn and ask questions about how you can get involved in helping to inform your local, state and national policy makers about our practice and its benefits.  Click here to register.

HTPA October Business Support "LIve" Interview

Lauri Pointer Tuesday, October 9, 2012 ~ 9:00 PM Eastern

"Consistently & Creatively Marketing Yourself for a Thriving Practice"

Interview with Lauri Pointer, HTCP/I

If you want to hear tips and commonsense advice from someone who DOES have a "thriving practice," then you must attend our October Interview. Lauri has not only built the means to support herself, (a single mom), and her two children (now both in college) but she also LOVES what she does and shares her enthusiasm for Healing Touch as she shares her business success stories.

Lauri said that she has had her website re-done and LOVES IT - even saying that "it was worth every penny to have it done." She also said that she has started a new business Facebook page that she is having fun with so we are sure to learn just why these pieces are important to your business growth.

Since Lauri is also a Certified Journal to the Self Instructor, she says she has established social media presence with her journal writing prompts. For all who are interested in writing and journaling this will be a great opportunity to ask questions and learn from a pro.

Lauri has had her practice/business for many years and is consistently offering her clients and potential clients value when she markets. She uses a newsletter in which she offers different coupons to promote products in her small waiting room holistic store; she sends birthday postcards and more.

Lauri's passion for her "work" and enthusiasm for keeping her business fresh and inviting will not only inspire you but is sure to help you grow your business. You will learn why she feels it is so important that you feel good about everything you put out there. Here are some more of her thoughts: "In this age of technology and social networking we have easy opportunities to reach people, share our gifts, and establish a thriving Healing Touch practice. Consumers are watching for consistency and longevity in the way you reach out to them. They want to make sure you are not a "fly by night" practitioner before they establish a relationship with you for their energy healing needs. We will take a look at creative ways to offer something of value to your audience each time you reach out with technology. There are places that make sense in business to cut corners financially and places where it is wise to invest. Let's explore together how to increase your opportunities to share your unique gifts in the world in a way that feels natural and flowing. With a few simple steps, and some consistency and creativity, you will become a magnet for your highest good clients to flow to you with effortless ease."

We invite you to join us for an informative, FUN interview!  Click here to register.

Liability Insurance Update

Liability Ins With the change in our Liability Insurance carrier which took place on April 1, 2012, came a new directive for all Subscribers to add a Liability Waiver to their Informed Consent Form. Although the use of a Liability Waiver was unfamiliar to us, we have learned that this is now standard practice by insurance carriers and in fact is an added professional protection. To date, we are having on-going discussions with Midge Murphy, JD, Professional Liability Risk Management Consultant and Dorothea Hover-Kramer, author of "Creating Healing Relationships, Professional Standards for Energy Therapy Practitioners" which includes chapters on Professional Responsibility, Liability Insurance and Ethics. We continue to consult with other experts in this field. Both Midge and Dorothea have agreed to write articles for us and we are in the process of developing Policy around this issue. We will be sending all Liability Insurance Subscribers a full explanation of this new Policy.

Bottom line - when you have Professional and General Liability Insurance you are free to provide your services, teach, make recommendations, volunteer whenever/wherever knowing that you and your interests are protected.

Ongoing Discussions

Quarterly Business Discussion - Private Practice Development

By request from many of our members who aspire to create business practices that can bring an income to sustain a modest lifestyle, HTPA held a teleconference discussion August 14th about what's working and what's not."

HTPA is committed to support and help all who want to make a living or volunteer doing what they love to do - Healing Touch and/or other Energy Medicine modalities. We had a lively call and heard from many who are on the path to business success.

One of the noticeable advances in our Community since a similar call was held a year ago, is the rise in comfort level most have with the thought of actually earning a substantial living. It appears that the healer's issue of struggling with the concept of being paid is starting to dissipate.

Suggestions for business success shared on the call are the importance of having a business coach; discover subconscious beliefs that are keeping you from succeeding; write yourself a check every day; find your niche and narrow your marketing to that niche; continue to discuss this topic on the HTPA Forum/Message Board.

Click here to listen to the recording of the Business Discussion Call - "Growing Your Private Practice - What's Working, What's Not".  Look for the next Business Discussion to be held December 11th.
