MCCPTA Praises the Board of Education for Restoring Wheaton/Edison Modernization Schedule

On November 17, the Board of Education adopted a school construction request for FY 2103-2018. In response to the Board's amendment to maintain the current schedule for the Wheaton High School/Thomas Edison High School of Technology modernization, MCCPTA President Kristin Trible released this statement:

"We are very pleased that the Board of Education has maintained the schedule for the Wheaton High School/Edison Tech modernization. With this being the best construction market in a decade, we appreciate the Board's efforts in finding a cost-neutral way to keep this modernization project on schedule. We pledge to continue working with the Board to find additional options that can keep our middle school modernizations and other high school modernizations on track while also meeting our schools' many capacity and systemic renewal needs."

"We hope that the County Executive will similarly propose a capital budget that meets the school system's many needs. With a growing student population and a favorable construction market, now is the time to invest in school infrastructure."

Montgomery County Council of PTAs thanks you for all that you do!
