Cultivating authentic seership is hardly an overnight endeavor. It is a deep process that generates profound transformations within the seer. But what constitutes "authentic" seership?
With modest effort, it is not too difficult for most people to achieve results with crystal gazing. This is an important first step. Once you can consistently crystal gaze with confidence, then you are ready to truly develop your seership.
Meditation and Prayer
Meditation and prayer are two essential components of seership. Frequently, a person might prefer either meditation over prayer or vice-versa. However, emphasizing one over the other can hinder the development of your seership.
It is useful to see prayer and meditation as two components of the same spiritual process. Meditation is a passive, receptive modality. Prayer is an active, seeking modality.
If you consider for a moment what is happening when you crystal gaze, you will recognize this active-passive process occurring in a natural cycle. You begin by actively seeking visions in the crystal. Once the vision arises, you receive it passively. After you have allowed the vision to manifest, you either seek another through active effort or terminate the session.
As you can see, a strong prayer and meditation practice is an extremely practical step in developing your seership.
We have received a number of questions regarding the best way to positon the crystal ball while gazing. There are two ways that have proven themselves to be most useful.
The most traditional method is to rest the crystal on a stand and place the stand on a pillar or table. The seer is seated in a chair with the crystal below eye level and no farther away than arm's length. Alternatively, the crystal, in its stand, can be placed on the floor with the seer slightly raised on a cushion. If the sphere is made of clear or translucent glass or stone, some practitioners prefer that the stand be made of openwork or be itself clear so as to admit ambient light from below, although this is not entirely necessary. If the crystal is made of opaque glass or stone, the stand can have a solid base.
Another technique is to hold the crystal. This can be more challenging. Again the seer can use a chair or assume any meditation pose. It is important that the crystal can be held comfortably in that postion for the entire gazing session. It is recommended that if you chose to hold the crystal, have the stone resting in a white or neutral color cloth. Using a cloth removes distractions and will enhance the seer's ability to focus.
Too often we allow the hectic whirl and rush of life to disrupt our own inner balance. The following exercise is a potent tool in the manifesting and maintaining of an inward, personal peace.
This exercise was developed using a blue or aqua sphere. For this piece of transformative crystal gazing the color of the sphere is important. Blue is a color of immense healing and peacefulness. We are going share in that wonderful property of the crystal. Other than the sphere, you will need a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for 10-20 minutes.
1. Sit comfortably with your sphere in gazing position.
2. Allow your mind to clear as you gaze into the blue sphere.
3. Breathing as you gaze:
Inhale on a count of four.
Hold the breath in on a count of two.
Exhale on a count of four.
Hold out on a count of two before inhaling again.
Repeat. You will maintain this breathing for the the whole exercise. (It becomes second nature with just a little practice.)
4. Project yourself into the sphere. Once you have found a comfortable rhythm with the breathing, you will begin a form of transference with the blue sphere. This is an easy process where you begin to see yourself comfortably relaxing within the crystal. See yourself within the sphere and maintain this peaceful state for a minimum of seven breathing cycles and no longer than three minutes.
5. Once you have established yourself peacefully within the sphere, you are going to create a bridge. Visualize the blue coming from the sphere to you. You will begin to experience the blue tranquility linking back to you from the crystal. Allow the sphere to slowly pour back into you its unending supply of peaceful and rejuvenating energy. Take some time to enjoy this wonderful experience.
6. At the conclusion, it is appropriate to close with a quick prayer of gratitude.
This exercise is just one of the many techniques explained in a forthcoming book on crystal gazing, brought to you by the Crystal Silence League.
"Though I have been doing the nightly 'sending' crystal meditation/prayers for others, I had yet to do the morning 'receiving' crystal meditation/prayer for myself. Until Monday morning that is...and WOW did it hit me! I was filled with a great sense of purpose and direction specifically concerning my near future! I immediately started turning those thoughts into actions. I am a true believer, now more than ever. I am so happy and grateful for the re-emergence of the Crystal Silence League! Thank you!"
