American Journal of Preventive Medicine & Robert Wood Johnson Foundation launch Childhood Obesity Challenge
Last week, the American Journal of Preventive Medicine (AJPM) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation launched the Childhood Obesity Challenge, a competition to promote creative and innovative solutions to childhood obesity outside the standard framework of scientific research publications. AJPM seeks to provide an outlet for innovations that may not be captured by the traditional scientific publishing model. Visit the Childhood Obesity Challenge website for examples of areas in particular need of new approaches and details about the submission process. Entries will undergo peer review by AJPM reviewers. Cash prizes total $5,000. The winners also will be recognized in AJPM's online and print publications. The deadline for submitting entries to the challenge is Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012. Interested in childhood obesity issues? Consider joining the ASBP Pediatric Obesity Task Force! For more information, visit the task force's web page or contact Membership & Exhibit Sales Manager Anna Vanderkleed.
