The ASBP Obesity Medicine Certification Review Course (Oct. 24-25) is part of the ASBP 62nd Annual Obesity & Associated Conditions Symposium at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando on Oct. 24-28. The symposium is comprised of two parts: the Obesity Medicine Certification Review Course* (Oct. 24-25) and the

Attendees earn up to 30 hours of continuing medical education (CME) by participating in the full symposium. Additional details about this event are available at www.obesitymedicineconference.org. Register by Friday, Sept. 14, and be entered into a drawing to win two 1-day Park Hopper® Option admissions to Walt Disney World® Resort! For more information about planning a trip while at the conference, visit http://asbp.orlandomeetinginfo.com/.
*Prepare for the certification exam! Attending the entire Orlando conference will fulfill the live CME requirement for the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) examination. You must register for the Orlando conference prior to the ABOM application final deadline of Sept. 14 (save $250 on the exam fee with early registration by Aug. 15) in order to make these credits valid for the 2012 ABOM examination. Interested in taking your obesity medicine education to new heights? Discover the ASBP Fellowship Program
ASBP has developed an online fellowship program that consists of educational modules covering various aspects of obesity medicine for advanced training in treating obese and overweight patients and their associated conditions. Each module consists of a webinar, relevant journal articles and recordings of past ASBP conference lectures, which complement the material covered in the presentation per advice from the expert instructor for that topic. Participants view conference lectures, read the articles and take a test on the module content prior to participating in a webinar presentation and conference call with the instructor. Fellowship Program webinars are held biweekly on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. (EST). A question-and-answer session is included as part of the webinar to provide an opportunity for the instructor and participants to further discuss the module's content. Each webinar presentation is recorded (excluding the question-and-answer portion), and participants may view it if otherwise unable to participate in the the live call. Participants earn 10 continuing medical education (CME) hours upon completion of each module. For more information, visit the Fellowship Program webpage or download an application, which includes requirements and fees. NOTE: The preceptorship requirement is no longer part of the ASBP Fellowship Program. |
