Greetings!
UPA is pleased to announce that Mr. Morris R. Beschloss will be writing a monthly newsletter exclusively for UPA and our affiliated companies. Morrie has long been associated with our industry and continues to maintain an active leadership position in the current valve world, in a multitude of capacities.

In addition to building a veritable valve corporate empire, starting with a small ($2 million per year) revenue company, Hammond Valve, to a Flow Control Group, including Lunkenheimer, OIC, Ft. Pitt Steel Foundries, Mexico's Valvulas Senkowski, and Canada's Morrison Brass, plus Conval International, growing to $130 million annually, Beschloss has provided industry leadership over a span exceeding 50 years.
He was a four-year President/Chairman of the Valve Manufacturers' Association, during which he tripled the Association's membership from 20 to 65. He also expanded the Association's basis to include ball and butterfly valve manufacturers, as well as producers of actuators, operators, and associated flow control devices.
Having become the youngest member of the VMA Board in 1962, he was instrumental in working with distributorship organizations, becoming one of the four architects who founded the Industrial Piping Division of the American Supply Association.
He also became a director of the Pipe-Valve-Fitting Roundtable, receiving that vertically-oriented Houston-based trade organization's highest award from the founder Sid Westbrook. Beschloss was recently awarded the first and only Director Emeritus Award, and maintains active involvement in that association of manufacturers, pvf distributors, end users, specifiers, and master distributors.
He is a frequent speaker and lecturer to a variety of plumbing-heating-cooling piping groups and writes monthly columns - PVF on the Pulse - for The Wholesaler and PHC News Magazines. He also publishes a widely subscribed bi-monthly industry newsletter, The Beschloss Perspective.
As a California-based TV and radio personality, he also writes a daily on-line economic blog for the Gannett Publishing Company.
We are very pleased and proud to have our long time friend, Morrie Beschloss, contribute his valuable perspective to our industry partners. |
