Greetings,
Everyone attending the "All Things Muir" Festival in Coulterville, CA, enjoyed bountiful sunshine and the glorious sharing of a day to honor young John Muir's walk to Yosemite Valley in 1868. A special thank you and welcome to the thirty-one new John Muir Geotourism Center members!

One of the features we would like to bring to our newsletter readers in the future will include links to the work of Muir admirers and family members who are supporting the John Muir Highway Geotourism Project. In this email, we encourage visitors to explore the superb photographic history of Al Golub's career that is exhibited at his web site - Al Golub Photography. He graciously served as our Festival photographer. His photography spans an incredible range of subjects displaying his amazing talents.

There is unique value for travelers to be gained from a geotourism approach to their vacation planning on their route to Yosemite National Park. The National Geographic Magazine definition of "geotourism" is important to remember as the summary of the insights and adventure mission - "tourism that sustains or enhances the geographical character of a place-its environment, culture, aesthetics, heritage, and the well-being of its residents."
