Be Young John Muir
April 25, 2012
Expert Docent Kris Randall explains flora & fauna noted by John Muir's journals and still thriving along his original route.
Greetings,
The Northern Mariposa County History Center in Coulterville, CA, offered the first Expert Docent led tour of John Muir's walk to Yosemite this past week. You can share the excitement created for all five senses by reliving the words, wisdom and wonder of the same natural and historic settings Muir found when he traveled to Yosemite Valley for the first time in 1868. Sign up and introduce yourself to a unique geotourism trip for you, your friends and family on the way to Yosemite National Park.  The schedule for Spring and Summer times, pricing and reservations should be available soon - (for more information call 209-878-3015). Don't miss the John Muir Celebration - All Things Muir - June 9, 2012.
Kris tells first tour group about the geology and ecological changes in the HorseShoe Bend area since Muir's first notes on his passage up the pass with a flock of sheep.

Bower Cave - Teri, Debbie & Steve reflect the same joy of discovery that Muir related in his journals about this sacred wonder. Click the photo to watch the music video gem - The Ballad of Bower Cave by Don Burnham.
