Greetings,
Seen above (L to R), Board of Director Members - John Shimer, Maryann Huff and Chuck Peck (receiving award announcement from Ken & Teri Pulvino) will be working to establish the John Muir Geotourism Center (JMGC)- Press release - honoring John Muir's historic walk to Yosemite Valley in the 1880's. The JMGC mission is focused on providing tourists with a unique opportunity for exploring, learning, sharing and preserving the environment and rural lifestyle along the route. A youth education program will also be developed to introduce urban & rural students more directly to the natural context of Muir's writings following in his footsteps and in his awe of God's creations.
The announcement week included a visit by Robert Hanna, Muir's great-great-grandson - LA Times - A fresh heir in Muir country - for a tour of the Bean Creek Preserve land conservancy ( Sierra Foothill Conservancy ) in Greeley Hill, CA, & the YNP GP meeting.
