Be Young John Muir

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Greetings,
Come visit the same route to Yosemite Valley traveled by John Muir as a young man. He walked and authored his way into history as the father of our National Parks and, with the recent land donation of 80 acres by Ken & Teri Pulvino from their Birders Homestead Ranch in Greeley Hill, CA, to The Sierra Foothill Conservancy, you will soon have a chance to follow expert docents to the same locations he described in My First Summer in the Sierra.
Put it on your calendar to visit during this year's annual John Muir Celebration on June 4th, and enjoy the festivities in Lake Don Pedro, Coulterville, Groveland and Smith Station. Information about Docent tours ( Bower Cave ), biking tours and festivities can be found at the links below.
Also, check out news about the John Muir Highway Geotourism Project at www.JohnMuirHighway.net as the international scope of the project alliances expand.
The Sierra Foothill Conservancy's Bean Creek Parcel will be dedicated on June 4th with a special ceremony including a nature walk led by Rodney Olsen and Len McKenzie.
Since 2003 over 100 different species of birds have been observed on this meadowland and 7 acre pond.
It is now part of the John Muir Highway Geotourism Trip along the historic route.
