Sarah Mynhier Book Drive

The 6th Annual Sarah Mynhier Book Drive begins on April 18th! Would your office, school, club or neighborhood be interested in doing a collection?  Over the years, volunteers have collected more than 11,000 books to benefit nine schools in Lake Cobookdriveunty. This year we are partnering with Bernie's Book Bank to deliver six books each to elementary school children in Highwood, North Chicago, Waukegan, and Zion. Bernie's will drop off (and pick up!) a receptacle bin if you would like to participate as a collection site.  Books may also be dropped off at our office on the second floor of Gorton Community Center, or at our sponsor's office, Forest Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry (840 S. Waukegan Road, #107)Drop-off is from April 18th to 29th.

Open Doors at LFHS

Do you have a student at Lake Forest High School? Encourage them to check out the service and job shadowing opportunities available during this year's Open Doors program. Registration is open through April 8th! You can register by clicking here.

The sixth annual Open Doors Career Exploration Program will be held on April 27-29, 2011. The purpose of this job shadowing program is to provide students first-hand, on-the-job experience with professionals in the community and with local volunteer agencies during the three days that students have off from school due to the Prairie State Achievement Exam (PSAE) for Juniors.
