Reading Power
Reading Power is a literacy tutoring program serving low-achieving children attending elementary schools in North Chicago, Illinois.
Our mission is to accelerate childrens' literacy learning and to develop in them a love of reading and writing. We accomplish this goal through an independent tutoring program working in partnership with the schools. We believe that all children deserve to reach their academic potential.

Big Brothers Big Sisters
For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation's largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers ("Bigs") and children ("Littles"), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago's mission is to empower our next generation through life-changing, high impact, one-to-one mentoring and that all children achieve success in life.
