CulinaryAlumni Accomplishment - Nikki Melvin Johnson

Nikki Johnson and Sandi Patty JCJC musical theater producer, instructor and JCJC alumna, Nikki Melvin Johnson had one of her dreams as a performer come true recently.  She was asked to sing with Christian artist Sandi Patty in the final concert of Hattiesburg's Festival South at Temple Baptist Church-West, June 23.  Johnson said the experience was amazing.

"Growing up I wanted to sing high notes because Sandi Patty sang high notes," said Johnson.  "I often performed her songs in church and dreamed of being the 'next' Sandi Patty.  She was a major musical influence in my life and I was honored to get to tell her that face to face."

taco bell It's official!  Taco Bell will be opening up a small version of its nationally known Mexican restaurant this fall on the Jones campus.  Plans are underway to remodel the current game room into an area where students can 'hang out', like in the 'grill' of Jones' past.  Other food items may also be offered besides the Taco Bell menu options.
Because of the game room remodel, Campus Police will be moved to the former Non Traditional Student Success Center at the edge of campus on Augusta Road and Hwy 29 South.  The NTSC is relocating to the Library, in the former Sub Shop area. diane williams
Director of the NTSC, Dr. Diane Williams will be expanding her role on campus to include the Student Success Center.  She will be over all counseling and both Success Centers on the Jones Campus. Williams recently earned her Doctorate of Philosophy in Community College Leadership from Mississippi State University.  She has filled many roles on the Jones campus and is an alumna of Jones.

Centennial Seal Just because you aren't on the JCJC campus every day doesn't mean you can't play an important role in the Centennial Celebration. Anyone can join the Centennial Celebration by becoming a "Bobcat 100" donor.

The "Bobcat 100" is an Alumni Centennial Campaign honoring our 100-year heritage while simultaneously providing resources that will allow us to enter our next century with confidence.

You are invited to join the growing group of individuals who have become part of the "Bobcat 100." All we ask for is a donation of $100 to commemorate Jones' rich history and give you an opportunity to continue inspiring greatness as we move into the next century.

Our goal is to present 100 Centennial Scholarships to deserving students for the 2012-13 school year.

Make checks payable to the JCJC Foundation "Bobcat 100" and mail to

900 South Court Street, Ellisville, MS 39437.
