Hello! Alumni and Friends, |
The JCJC Alumni Association and Foundation would like to invite you to Presidential candidate, Newt Gingrich's campaign visit at Jones County Junior College.
The Republican Presidential candidate will be speaking to an audience of students, JCJC faculty and community members Friday, March 9, at noon in the M. P. Bush Fine Arts Auditorium on campus.
Because of increased security surrounding this event and the anticipation of a large crowd, early arrival is suggested. The doors will open at 10:30 a.m. The entire program is expected to last approximately 45 minutes. This event is open to the public and free of charge.
His visit comes just ahead of the Mississippi Republican presidential primaries being held Tuesday.
We hope to see you there! |
This marks the second time in four years that a presidential candidate has either come to JCJC or sent a representative. In 2008, former President Bill Clinton spoke to a capacity crowd in the varsity gymnasium on behalf of his wife, Hillary Clinton. Before that, one has to go all the way back to 1909 to find a visit to Ellisville from a president or presidential candidate. During that year, President-elect William Howard Taft addressed a large crowd when he made a whistle stop in Ellisville on his way to Washington, D. C. |
