Jasper County Center Expansion

Jasper County Supervisors and JCJC officials laid the foundation to meet the growing building front

demand for higher education in the county with the college's first Learning Center which opened January 2008.  Three-and-a-half years later, expansion of the facility was marked with the July 26th ground breaking.  This marked the beginning of the expansion of services in Bay springs.

JCJC President Dr. Jesse Smith also announced a new program will be based in Jasper County.  To read about all the exciting expansion plans click on the link here: Jasper County Ground Breaking Story.

Remember When...
JCJC approved a new dress code in 1970?  Pantsuits were permissible for JCJC coeds.  The girls must wear the formal outfit with the tunic top over the pants.  The new dress code applied to both dorm and commuter students.  "Bad taste in wearing blue jeans, football jerseys or dungarees would not be allowed"
