"Promises, Hopes, and Change"

The Rev. Leslie Westbrook, Ph.D., LCPC, Endorsed Community Minister in Pastoral Counseling

After well over ten years as Cedar Lane's endorsed Community Minister in Pastoral Counseling, Leslie will be leaving Cedar Lane at the end of the summer. She will affiliate with another Unitarian Universalist Church and continue her practice at an office on East West Highway in Bethesda. She and Roger (Fritts) will have a commuter marriage, as he will be leaving Cedar Lane to become the new minister in Sarasota, Florida. This will be a sermon about promises, hopes and changes.

We Care

The We Care program is a network led by volunteers who reach out to address short-term needs - food deliveries, rides to doctor's appointments, a listening ear in the event of a loss. The Cedar Lane congregation is organized geographically by "neighborhoods"; each neighborhood has at least one chairperson to coordinate support. Look at your nametag or the map in the church office to find your neighborhood.

We celebrate with Karl and Debbie Scott Goodwin (Neighborhood 25) Debbie writes, "On Saturday, July 16th, our son, Marc Andrew Goodwin, will be married to Antonia Pham Young in San Francisco at Golden Gate Park." Congratulations to all...

Good news about Rita Pittillo (N9): After a long recovery from a hip replacement in a rehab center, Rita is due to return home on Tuesday, July 19th. Hooray!

Should you know of a member of our community in personal need, you are encouraged to reach out to them. If you learn that this person wishes to receive a response from the church, please contact Heather Janules at hjanules@cedarlane.org All ministers offer pastoral care to our members so you are also encouraged to contact any member of the ministerial team.
