We Care
The We Care program is a network led by volunteers who reach out to address short-term needs - food deliveries, rides to doctor's appointments, a listening ear in the event of a loss. The Cedar Lane congregation is organized geographically by "neighborhoods"; each neighborhood has at least one chairperson to coordinate support. Look at your nametag or the map in the church office to find your neighborhood.
We celebrate with Amina Hafiz and Darrius Sarraf (Neighborhood 18) who welcomed their first child, Finn Hafiz Sarraf, into the world on July 7th - 4 lbs, 6.5 oz, 17.5 inches long. Finn requires a brief stay in the NICU but will be ready to come home soon. Hooray!
Update on Marjorie Melton (N25): After a few days at Shady Grove Hospital, Marjorie is now back at Ingleside, receiving care on their rehabilitation unit. Visitors are welcome.
And we rejoice with Ariel Mora (N25) who writes, "[My son] Gavin ap'Morrygan will be getting married to Nichole Koehl in Red Bank, NJ on July 9. Gavin & Nikki met on an internet chat board for fans of movie director Kevin Smith, who will officiate at their wedding." Congrats to everyone!
And, on a practical note, we welcome Helen Pechacek as the new Chair of the We Care program. Helen is a long-time chairperson for N29 and brings great energy and compassion to her lay ministry. Thank you, Helen, for your service and leadership, to your neighborhood and the program as a whole!
Should you know of a member of our community in personal need, you are encouraged to reach out to them. If you learn that this person wishes to receive a response from the church, please contact Heather Janules at hjanules@cedarlane.org All ministers offer pastoral care to our members so you are also encouraged to contact any member of the ministerial team.
