Dear PPP Member,
May and June are busy months for teens. With Prom and Graduation on the horizon, we know we are entering a high risk season for teen drinking and driving. We need to come together as a community to pledge that as responsible adults, we will not provide alcohol to our young people. Please join us at our various events and meetings designed to address these concerns.
Thank you!

60 Parents attended the Parent Forum on Underage Drinking at Taconic High School
| About 60 parents, additional volunteers, and about 30 students attended the PPP's Parent Forum on Underage Drinking on May 6th. The high school students presented a powerful skit about the consequences of drinking at a party. Middle school students served as volunteers for the evening. A HUGE Thank You goes out to our MC, Cynthia Quinones, and our speakers, David Capeless, Dan Zunitch, Lisa Parise, Jay Marion and Tracy DiSilva. Finally, our shoulder taps volunteer teens presented a quick demonstration of what it is like to conduct the survey, which involves asking customers outside a package store a hypothetical question: "IF I gave you some money, WOULD you buy me some beer?" It's clear that our community is ready and able to address the issue of teen substance abuse. Thanks to all you committed agents for change.

| DUI Simulator and After Prom Planning!
| Parents from Taconic and Pittsfield High Schools are busy planning a fabulous night of fun activities for all prom-goers to attend after the prom is over. The parties will be held at Berkshire West. For more info, or to get involved with the planning, contact Heather Prenguber at PHS and Sharon Harrison at THS.
On May 24, 25, and 26, a Driving Under the Influence simulator will be making the rounds at the Pittsfield High Schools to give students an opportunity to experience what it feels like to be in a car with a drunk driver at the wheel. Thanks to Jan D'Arcangelo at Pittsfield Public Schools for organizing this activity.
