Dear PPP Member, April is Alcohol Awareness Month. Included in this newsletter are links to sites that provide information, statistics, and techniques related to Underage Drinking. During the month of April, the PPP will be gearing up for its May Parent Forum on Underage Drinking, featuring Berkshire County District Attorney David Capeless speaking about the Social Hosting Law, and highlighting the PPP's strategies aimed at preventing underage drinking and drug use. Please join us in our efforts to plan for this event by attending a PPP membership meeting this Thursday, April 1st at 9am, at the Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center, 165 East Street, Pittsfield. Everyone is welcome!

Help Us Plan for the May Underage Drinking Forum
 On May 6th, the PPP will present a Parent Forum on Underage Drinking, featuring D.A. David Capeless, aimed at educating parents about the illegality, liability and dangers of providing alcohol to teens in their homes. In addition, the SADD chapters from Pittsfield and Taconic High Schools will perform a special presentation on how to resist the pressure to drink. PPP volunteer students will perform a skit illustrating the Shoulder Taps Survey, one of the PPP's strategies aimed at changing community norms that favor underage drinking. April 9th and 10th: 411 in the 413 Youth Conference
The Berkshire Youth Development Project is hosting a conference for high school students. The lead agency, Railroad Street Youth Project, has put together a fantastic line-up of workshops, keynote speakers, and outdoor activities at Becket Chimney Corners. SAY It Proud Winners Announced at Talent Show
 The PPP is so proud of our winners: Ashara Lindemann, THS, 11th grade Savannah Marion, Herberg, 6th grade Rachel Nicola, Herberg, 8th grade Michelle Messana, Lenox, 11th grade Renee Saville, Nessacuss, 8th grade Ashara and Savannah will appear all month long on the Berkshire United Way's community television program, , hosted by President and CEO, Kristine Hazzard. Or you can watch it anytime on line. Prizes were provided by Greylock Federal Credit Union, Berkshire Bank, the Pittsfield Family YMCA, and local hair salons!
