To All of my Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,
First, I would like to send you a long overdue Thank You for all of the prayers that were offered to our heavenly Father on my behalf while I was healing from the motorcycle accident that I had in late April this past year. I am happy to report that I am completely recovered from that incident and although there are some lingering aches and pains (mostly when the weather changes to cold and damp conditions) I am definitely not complaining. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet with some of you since the accident. I believe that each of you would agree with me that I am a living testament to the grace that GOD can bestow upon one individual by extending his healing hand and also a testament to the power of prayer. Second, I unfortunately need to ask you again to include me in your prayers. Just after completing the final days of my extended physical therapy, I was informed that the colon cancer that I had six years ago had returned. As you might imagine the news was nearly devastating to me, however, thanks to my faith in the Lord and the thoughtful words from two of my brothers from GNVDC, Donald Miller and Jim Getzinger, I have been able to gather myself back up and take on this new challenge head on. Two weeks ago I began what could be a 6 month chemotherapy treatment program. The side effects were much more severe this time around right from the beginning. To that end, I am asking you all to pray that I might receive the power of the Holy Spirit to strengthen my mind so that I might enter the remaining cycles of chemotherapy with a more positive attitude. If I learned anything from the last round with chemotherapy, it was that attitude is everything. I know that during my previous recovery I could feel in my body the energy being provided by our Father in response to all of the prayers that you provided. I know that you can all help me get through new challenge in my life. Thank you ALL and GOD BLESS you all! WANTED:
COOKIES
FOR KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY!
|
The Kairos Prison Ministry is asking for volunteers to bake cookies! They need thousands of cookies by March 15 for their work at the prison! Home-baked cookies send a messge to the residents that someone who doesn't even know them, cares about them and is praying for them! Such selflessness is often a very unique experience for them. These cookies are "seeds of love" being sown in the hearts of those who know so little of God's love! Who knows what heart will be touched and what life will be changed by your act of love!
If you are inspired by God to bake 2 (or more) dozen cookies, please click on the link below for guidelines:
Deadline for cookies is Thursday, March 15!
