What's New...
Hi Everyone, We would like to introduce ourselves as your new
communications co-chairs, Kevin and Joanne DeHetre. We are blessed and honored to
have this opportunity. We both have spent over 25 years in marketing and
advertising specializing in graphic design and print media. We do pray that we can use that expertise to
help the GNVdC community. Currently, we are working on many projects with updating the
database being the first priority. We discovered that the current database had
several versions and we are in the process of merging to just one to improve
accuracy and efficiency. Others projects we are working on will be updating the
website with a fresher look and more functions for the users. This will take
place in phases, so at first you may not notice many changes but they are
there. We are also working on getting a monthly email newsletter with current
news and prayer requests. Recently, we have also updated much of the printed
materials needed to support the movement in which we will have available at
Team Meetings, Ultreyas, Serenades, etc. We welcome any suggestions or feedback on things you may
like to see. We can be contacted by email: communications@gnvdc.org or call us
at 734-261-7322. God Loves You & So Do We, Kevin & Joanne DeHetre Weekend #37

Ry's Reflection
"Summer Lovin'" by Ryan EggenbergerI'm about to bust your summer bubble. Kind of. Sorry ☺Let me explain. There are times in our lives, like the summer, when it is so easy to relax, try to take it easy, and kick back from our busy lives, including the 'church stuff'. But there is no "vacation from a vocation." Considering that we have the honor of being God's manifested love to the world, can we really 'take a vacation' from loving others? We can take a break from work, but we can't relax in loving people and in loving God to the max. Ever. Even today. St. Paul's summers looked a little different then ours. We know his story: crossing the entire known world many times, shipwrecked, and even beaten so badly they "supposed he was dead." The guy was unstoppable at all times and all seasons. He was eager. He was striving, as if everything depended on him. He knew that the only way for people to experience the love of Jesus- that is, the love that you and I have experienced even 2,000 years later -was to love them- even to the point of death. Eventually, as we know, Paul was killed. All for Love. All for Jesus. So as we enter the middle of the summer and try to relax a bit, let us be refreshed in God's peace and in His Word, and be transformed by His Love so that others may see our good works and give glory to Our Father in Heaven.

Eventually, we will have a dedicated forum for prayer requests and praise reports. For now, we will be including these in this monthly email.
Please pray these people and their families:
Eunice Podsiadlik
on the passing of her husband, Len Podsiadlik
Judy Cook on the passing of her father, Jerry Neese
Pat Cravin on the passing of her husband, Don Cravin
Laura Fleeger-Koenig on the passing of her mother, Margaret Fleeger
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine
upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of
God, rest in peace. Amen.
