In these tough economic times and, in conjunction with the push to encourage recycling, here's an idea: re-use your calendar!
Pack this year's 2011 calendar away in the cedar chest and bring it out again in: 2022, 2033, 2039, 2050, 2061, 2067, 2078, 2089, 2095, 2101, and 2107.
If you'd had the foresight to plan ahead for 2011, you could have re-used calendars from these years: 2005, 1994, 1983, 1977, 1966, 1955, 1949, 1938, 1927, or 1921.
See us next month for helpful hints to re-use Kleenex and paper plates.
And remember how odd you thought it was when Izzy Cooper in your 8th grade science class had the same birthday as you? Well, the mathematical probability of 2 people in a group of 57 having the same birthday is 99%, and there is a 50% probability with a group of 23 people. |

In order to better serve you during the hustle and bustle of the holidays we are expanding our store hours. During the Holiday Season we will be open on Mondays beginning November 28th and stay open until 4:00 pm on Saturdays until Christmas.

New to Summa Jewelers is Sirius Star Diamonds, mined and crafted in Canada by Embee Diamonds. I was introduced to this new pattern when I met the owners of this proprietary cut at the American Gem Society annual meeting in the spring.
As a Graduate Gemologist (1980) and a Certified Gemologist (2006), I have had a rather negative view of adding facets to add sparkle since doing so may also darken the overall look of the diamond. That is...until I saw the diamonds cut in Prince Albert.
Embee's Master Diamond Cutter Mike Botha worked tirelessly with the AGS Laboratories to create a stone that has the pedigree to achieve top marks in light performance...performance that, like our top-of-the-line Infinity Diamonds, is instantly apparent when comparing diamond cuts.
