Can't believe it's already September. The kids are back in school (thank goodness) and, after one of the hottest summer's on record, soon we'll be complaining that it's too cold.
For those of you born in September, you're aware the sapphire is this month's birthstone. Sapphires are the second hardest gemstone to diamonds. They are also the preferred gift for the 5th and 45th wedding anniversaries.
The name is derived from the Latin for blue, sapphirus, but sapphires are also available in yellow, peach, orange, cognac, pink, violet, purple and green, as well as colorless, white, gray and black.
Many of our rings can be customized to fit the stone of your choice. Here are a couple of examples. Below, on the left, is a MaeVona Keava ring shown with a round diamond. On the right is the Keava ring customized with an oval blue sapphire.
