~ Halloween Walk in Kirkwood ~ |
|
Thursday, October 28th, is the Halloween Walk in downtown Kirkwood. From the picture above taken last year it's obvious that my wife, Ellen (The Cowardly Lion) and my sisters-in-law, Jean Lysell (The Tin Man) and Susan Covey (The Scarecrow) take this event very seriously. I was shamed into being The Wizard.
All the businesses who participate hand out treats and I must admit that we always give out the best candy. Trick-or-Treating begins at 5:00 p.m. and goes until 7:00 or thereabouts. Come in and bring the kids or grand kids or borrow a child or two.
Characters from The Magic House will help children with mask making at the Woodbine Center from 5-7 p.m. and a "Hometown Harvest" party will also be held at Greentree Community Church, 132 E. Monroe, which includes games, music and treats from 5-8 p.m.
So come on downtown. A fine time will be had by all.

One more thing... |
|
...for Kirkwood fans, the colors of this month's newsletter are intended to celebrate Halloween and in no way indicate any favoritism toward Webster Groves. Hey, I'm a Kirkwood grad. |
