Controlled Path of Light |

In a properly cut diamond, all light entering, no matter from what direction or angle, will always exit out the top of the stone. This is what makes a diamond sparkle.

~ Henny Youngman (1906-1998) ~ |

"Some people ask the secret of our long marriage. We take time to go to a restaurant two times a week. A romantic candlelight dinner, soft music, dancing. She goes Tuesdays, I go Fridays." |

~ Earth Day ~ |
Summa Jewelers is encouraging everyone to go green. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, officially on April 22nd with an Earth Day festival on the Muny grounds in Forest Park on Sunday, the 25th. Other related events are noted in our calendar.
The Earth Day Network is challenging everyone to perform a personal "Act of Green". Not only will it help the environment, it can save you $$$.
Here are a few suggestions:
-
change your light bulbs to more energy-efficient styles
-
take reusable grocery bags to the store
-
make your next Weber grill propane instead of charcoal
-
keep your tires inflated for better gas mileage & tire life
-
create a wildlife habitat by building a native plant garden
-
ride your bike or walk when you can
-
make your next car a hybrid
And, for those new to the Kirkwood area or who don't currently recycle, the Francis Scheidegger Recycling Depository at 350 South Taylor sets the gold standard for community recycling centers. 5.4 million pounds of glass, newspaper, catalogs, cardboard, mixed paper, plastic, tin cans, aluminum, magazines, phone books & scrap metal were collected in 2009! Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week the depository makes recycling easy and the results are great for the environment.
Reduce, reuse, recycle. Let's all do our part to leave this planet a better place than we found it.

There is now a SHARE button at the bottom of the newsletter if you'd like to access any social networking site. What would that have meant five years ago? What does it mean now? We called the operator when I was a kid.
-
We've added a website directory beneath the calendar so you can navigate from there directly to our website plus a link to archived past issues of our newsletter and our new Summa Jewelers Facebook page.
-
The $25.00 March coupon is valid until April 15th (my favorite day). If you didn't get the March issue, just mention the coupon when you come in.

And this month someone will win a beautiful Schlanser bud vase!!! You'll find the contest rules beneath the calendar.

~ SureFire Illumination Instruments ~ |
Okay, they're flashlights, but they're simply the best and the brightest, and anyone who's used one knows what we mean.
Named one of Outdoor Life's top 25 products (2009), Official Flashlight of the NRA (2009), winner of their Golden Bullseye Award (2008) and seen on Law & Order any time you see a cop in a dark alley, the SureFire name has become synonymous with ruggedness, reliability and brilliant illumination. It's the flashlight of choice for the military, law enforcement, emergency personnel and the serious outdoorsman.
And won't a SureFire sure look good in the Family Truckster's glove box on vacation this summer when you and the family have that flat tire at night on a country road along the shores of Lake Okeechobee on the way to visit Grammy and Gramps in West Palm Beach during hurricane season?
