~ Albert Einstein (1879-1955) ~

"Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That's relativity."

~ The June Bride ~

Juno was the wife of Jupiter, king of the gods of Roman mythology. As Jupiter's wife, she was queen of the gods, goddess of marriage and of childbirth and the most powerful of the goddesses. In early Roman times, June was believed to be the best time to marry in order to coincide with her observance. With beautiful weather, birds chirping, bees flitting from flower to flower and roses in bloom, June is still the most popular month to tie the knot.

~ Music ~

"Without music, life would be an error." ~ Fredrich Nietzsche

Last month Diana Krall was in concert. This month it's George Benson with Leon Russell's This Masquerade. Enjoy.

One more thing...

...the holidays and observances we cite in our calendar are legimate, even if some are a bit unusual. For instance, the 7th Annual Please Take My Children To Work Day on June 28th is an attempt to give stay-at-home moms some downtime by finding a relative, neighbor, friend or babysitter to take care of the kids for the day.

International Clothesline Week was created to encourage people to save energy by hanging their clothes out to dry one day a month instead of using their gas or electric driers.

National Accordion Awareness Month, however, may be a lost cause.
~ William Henry Studio ~
William Henry Waterbury
William Henry Studio was founded by Matt William Conable and Michael Henry Honack in 1997. They've assembled a crew of amazing craftspeople who do all their finish and assembly work in McMinnville, Oregon with all knife blade grinding performed by master blade grinder Kikuo Matsuda in Japan. Each piece will take over seven months to produce, involve over 30 artisans and approximately 800 individual operations.

You may not have thought of knives or money clips as jewelry store items, but when holding one of their creations you immediately recognize the exceptional heirloom quality of William Henry's work. Every piece, when finished, is a testament to their precision craftsmanship, the unique combination of function and art. William Henry Studio's vision has been realized, to design and build the finest tools possible, highly-functional and valued collectibles that will last a lifetime.

Summa Jewelers is proud to be an exclusive dealer for William Henry in the St. Louis area.

~ Micro Cut Precision ~

cut precision and hearts & arrows
Cut Precision is seen in reflective Optical Symmetry Viewers, also known as Hearts & Arrows Viewers. While other viewers focus only on the crown view, the optical symmetry viewer shows physical cut alignment in both crown (top) and pavilion (bottom) views. Only a tiny fraction of the world's diamonds will show crisp, uniform patterns (those clearly uniform hearts and arrows above left) and therefore few jewelry stores have these viewers because they clearly reveal the lack of precision present in a diamond's cut.

We have Infinity Diamonds, diamonds as close to perfect as they can possibly be. We also have a Hearts & Arrows Viewer here at Summa Jewelers. Come in for a test view.
