Tale of Two Powder Rooms project(s) of the month
Here's an example of what happens when the same materials are used for clients in their old home and then again, with some changes, in their new home -- 2 different looks. Materials in both: Waterworks brown pennyround floor tile, Emperador dark marble countertop, wall mounted faucet, Toto toilet, vintage look wall sconce. Differences = on left: unlacquered brass + traditional wallpaper (click here to see more) and on right: polished nickel + modern wallpaper (click here to see more).

Inspiration -- Words to Live By
If you want a golden rule that will fit everything, then this is it: Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful. ~ William Morris
British craftsman (1834 - 1896), designer & poet, whose designs generated the Arts and Crafts Movement in England.

Living & Green Design -- Don't throw out those old kicks!
Do you know a skateboarder who regularly shreds his or her shoes? Do you have running shoes too worn to donate? Don't throw them in the trash. Nike recycles worn out athletic shoes into sports surfaces like running tracks, basketball and tennis courts and playgrounds. The shoes are separated into rubber outsole, foam midsole and fiber upper and then ground up. Since 1990 they have recycled over 25 million shoes.
You can take up to 10 pair at a time to any Nike Factory Store for recycling. In NJ, there are 6 locations including 810 Bergen Town Center, Suite 37
Paramus, NJ 07652
201-843-0932.
The bin is near the front entrance.
