Welcome back Father Miner!
MinerThis Sunday, March 25, Fr. Malcolm Miner will be back at All Saints' leading both services. As many of you know, Fr. Miner has long been a favorite, having served as interim back in '97-'98.  At 90+ years, Fr. Miner hasn't lost his sense of humor or wit, and certainly delivers meaningful sermons from his many years of life experience!  Be sure to welcome Fr. Miner back, and for those that have never met him and his lovely wife Imogene, be sure to introduce yourselves!
Church Workday tomorrow! Saturday, March 24
There are lots of things that need attention on property and your help is greatly needed!  We will be moving things out of the Rectory (for the rummage sale), and depending on the weather, we will plan to paint/stain the new deck under the tree.  Lots of other projects are being planned in case of rain, so don't let the weather hold you back from coming out.  Workday starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at noon. See you there!!!
Church Service Updates - The Rev. Robin Taylor

All Saints' has been in good hands since Fr. Ben's departure, first with Canon Liz, and this Sunday with Fr. Miner.  We will continue to experience some wonderful clergy, and are especially grateful to the Rev. Robin Taylor (Pastor Robin as she is referred to), who is the priest at Christ Memorial in Kilauea.  During our transition, Pastor Robin will be leading the Wednesday healing Eucharist each week, and will be the person in Robin Taylorcharge of "priestly duties".  This means that any pastoral needs will be taken care of by Pastor Robin.  Prior to her entrance into the ordained ministry, she served as a Physician Assistant in Family Practice and Internal Medicine for more than 30 years.  During that time she was a leader of medical missions to Panama and Haiti, so we are especially blessed to have Pastor Robin available to share her gifts with us.  She will also be tending to the preschool and making sure to be involved with them at least once a week until school ends.  If you have need for Pastor Robin, you may contact Chris in the office at 822-4267 during regular business hours, or e-mail her.  If there is an emergency or need when the office is closed, please call our Senior Warden, Galen Nakamura, at 635-5450, who will make immediate arrangements with Pastor Robin.

(Please see right column for times.)

Unfortunately, Fr. Tom Yoshida will not be able to make the Holy Week services afterall, but we will be welcoming back the Rev. Dan Leatherman on Palm Sunday, and the Rev. Diane Martinson-Koyama for both Easter services.  On Good Friday, Pastor Robin and the youth group will lead the Stations of the Cross service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a noon day service.  There will be no evening Good Friday service, so be sure to attend the daytime service.

Of course we must celebrate the most important event in the lives of Christians, with our annual Easter Festival, spearheaded by the Ke Akua Youth Group.  Immediately following the 9:30 a.m. service, we will have a great potluck celebration on the lawn, complete with egg hunt for children AND SENIORS!!!  Lots of games, crafts, fun, food and fellowship.  Be sure to bring a friend and don't miss out on a wonderful All Saints' tradition!

The Ke Akua Youth Group's Rummage & Bake Sale will be held on Saturday, March 31.  The youth are seeking your unwanted (but saleable) items for the rummage sale, including clothing, appliances, books, toys, shoes, furniture and anything else that's just collecting dust at your home.

The youth are collecting items at the Sunday services. Early service members may leave items on the Memorial Hall Lanai.  9:30 service members, please see a youth member to help you unload and retrieve your items. If this Sunday not convenient, please contact Sybil at 651-7773, or Chris at 822-4267, to make alternate arrangements.

The youth are also seeking donations of plants and baked goods that can be dropped off the evening of March 30th, or early on the day of the sale.

Funds raised will help send our youth to Los Angeles this summer to do mission work in Skid Row.  Please keep them in your prayers as they discern and prepare for their trip.

In the tradition of a "Town Hall Meeting", All Saints' Church will be holding a "Church Hall Meeting" on Sunday, April 15, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m., in the Sloggett Hall.  A delicious breakfast will be served.  Early service attendees---don't rush off to your usual breakfast spot on this day, and 9:30 service members don't have to worry about making breakfast!  More importantly, this is a crucial meeting in the life of the Church.  Please make every attempt to attend, as we will discuss the future of All Saints'.  This is your chance to voice your opinion and to take an active role in helping to shape the church.  Above all, continue to pray for our church as we discern the path we are being led.  Pray that we all be open to His voice and to do His will.  Although our youth are encouraged to attend, there will be childcare services provided for our youngest ones.

Please mark your calendars for this very important meeting!

Fifth Sunday in Lent
O Almighty God, who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men: Grant unto thy people that they may love the thing which thou commandest, and desire that which thou dost promise; that so, among the sundry and manifold changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

The American Family Studios has recommended the movie entitled October Baby.  Kahu Roy Sasaki from the Aloha Church shared with us that after a positive preview at their church a few weeks ago, producers have decided to show it at Kukui Grove Cinemas.  The movie starts today, March 23, for a limited 1-week engagement only!!!  October Baby tells the story of Hannah, a young woman who learns that she was adopted after a failed abortion attempt.  Hannah embarks on an incredible journey to discover her hidden past and find hope for her unknown future.
