Greetings!

Welcome Canon Liz!
LizThis Sunday, March 18, Canon Liz Beasley will be back at All Saints' leading both services. After the second service, she will be meeting with the Vestry in Memorial Hall to help with the search process.  For those that are new to All Saints', Canon Liz served as our Interim Rector several years ago.  She helped us through a very challenging time until a permanent rector was called.  She then served at St. John's By-the Sea in Kaneohe, and has since been appointed Canon to the Ordinary. What is a Canon to the Ordinary?
A Canon is a priest who is a member of certain bodies of the Christian clergy subject to ecclesiastical rule (canon or church law), and Ordinary, in the Episcopal Church, refers to the Bishop. Although responsibilities may vary from diocese to diocese, Canon Liz provides counsel and assistance to Bishop Bob Fitzpatrick, and is directly answerable to him.  She serves as a kind of chief of staff, with duties that include deployment, ministry and congregational development, and acts as a liaison with the Commission on Ministry and Continuing Education Commission.  In a nutshell, she has a lot of responsibilities and a lot on her hands!  We are so pleased to have Canon Liz here with us!
Shared Ministries
In line with the vision of our Diocese, Canon Liz has prepared a report on the subject of shared ministries.  This happens to be a very timely report for All Saints' as we discern the future of our congregation and the rector we seek.  In the latest issue of the Diocesan E-News, the Bishop recommends our leaders and members to read it:

Bishop Bob"Please click on the link below to read a paper written by Canon Liz Beasely on shared ministry and how it might develop in Hawai'i.  It is a reflection and not an order.  It is, however, a possible vision for the future. Though she has drawn learnings from many dioceses and resources, it is a reflection for us in the Islands.  Likewise, Canon Liz has made specific suggestions for our ministry together.  I urge every diocesan leader to read it. I hope clergy and wardens will share it with vestries/Bishop's Committees.  It can be shared with members of the congregations. This is an important contribution to shaping our mission as diocesan ohana.  Your engagement with these reflections and your input is vital.  Let us know what you think."

We're celebrating Saint Patrick's Day this Sunday!!!
Be sure to join us for some hearty corned beef and cabbage with all the trimmings at the refreshment hour this Sunday, March 18!  Hospitality is putting together the Irish feast as we celebrate one of Ireland's beloved Saints!  Oh, and don't forget to wear GREEN!!!
More familiar faces return to All Saints'
Miner
On March 25, Fr. Malcolm Miner will be at All Saints'.  As most "old-timers" know, Fr. Miner was the interim at All Saints' in 1997-98.  Although he has been retired for many years, he is still a beloved preacher and remains active at St. Michael and All Angels in Lihue as an Associate Priest.

Coming in April, Fr. Tom Yoshida will be filling in, leading the Palm Sunday and Easter services.  Fr. Tom was also with All Saints' many years ago, and is now retired but still remains active as a supply priest.

We are delighted to welcome these wonderful clergy back to All Saints'!
