Annual Meeting This Sunday!!!
All Saints' Church's Annual Meeting is this Sunday, January 29, after the 9:30 a.m. service.  There will be two regular services at 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.  Please be sure to attend this very important meeting.

Vestry?  Convention Delegate?  HELP!!! What does it all mean?!

In a nutshell, it means becoming involved.  As a member of the vestry (church board), you help to make decisions regarding the welfare of All Saints' and its operations.  As a convention delegate, you represent All Saints' Church at the annual meeting in the fall, where you help to make decisions regarding the welfare of the Diocese of Hawai'i (all the Episcopal churches in Hawai'i).

More importantly, choosing to become involved is a deeply personal decision that shouldn't be taken lightly.  Coming forward to be a leader at All Saints' doesn't require a college degree or years of being an Episcopalian.  What it does require is a solid foundation in our faith and a desire to care for our church, its members, and its mission in the community and beyond.

This year will be an especially important year for All Saints' as we begin the search process for a new rector. It is also an exciting time in the life of the Diocese with the focus on creating more vibrant communities.  The Vestry will help form the new church profile and vision with these changes in mind.

To learn more about vestry involvement, visit the Episcopal Church Foundation website's ECF Vital Practices.  This section contains a wealth of information regarding leadership and vestry practices, including a Vestry 101 link!

Vestry selection will take place during the Annual Meeting on January 29.  If you have any questions, please see Fr. Ben, or e-mail the office

Making Ceramic Crosses for Easter - Sign Up Now!
The beautiful art scolls in the church will be coming down for Lent, and we would like to replace them with hand-crafted ceramic crosses by Easter.  Dates will be determined once a class is set, and will involve a 2-hour Saturday class at Light Wave Pottery Studio located in the Arzadon Industrial Park next to All Saints', plus a half-hour follow-up class to glaze the crosses. Hale Lani Christian Store will be covering all expenses, so this is FREE!  If you would like to take part in this great art project, please see Chris Wataya, or call her at 822-4267.  Space is limited!
Reminder---Come be a part of the Peace Garden!

Ground breaking on the Peace Garden takes place on Saturday, January 28, from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and continues on Sunday, January 29.  The youth group will be planting during the annual meeting, and anyone is invited to join in after the meeting.  More workdays are being planned for Saturday, February 4, with additional prep days inbetween as needed. Donations of plants are welcome and all are invited to take part in this wonderful project that will hopefully bring joy and peace to all in the community.  If you have any questions or would like more information, email Jeff and Lacee

Santos Baby Shower coming up!
There will be a potluck shower on Sunday, February 12, after the 9:30 a.m. service, for Jeff and Lacee who are expecting their first child in March.  The theme is "ducks" and they are pretty certain they are having a girl.  Dessert is being provided by the Church and gifts are optional.  For those interested, they are registered at Amazon.com.   Mark your calendars and plan to join in the fun and games as we celebrate the coming of Baby Santos!
