Thanksgiving

Recently some people from our church encouraged me to read the book, One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are. The author points out how often Jesus gave thanks in scripture. Even in the midst of great difficultly, Christ gave thanks. In fact, each week when we come to communion we remember, "The Lord Jesus, on the night that he was betrayed, took bread, gave thanks, and broke it saying 'this is my body broken for you.'" He even gave thanks the night before his crucifixion!  

The practical challenge of the book is to make a list of 1,000 things you are grateful for. So I've begun. I'm on 116. Almost every night before bed, I write down a few things I'm grateful for. Here are just a few of mine: #9. Sunrise
this AM, vibrant sky. #13. Adopted by God. #37. Michael Gungor music. #61. Baby boy swinging in a given swing. #95. Our elders faith & belief. #103. Meal from the Griemans. #107. Texting with Mom. #111. Skyping with Nana and Papa. #113. Walking in Frisco.

What's up this Month

CLUB 56 FOR 5TH & 6TH GRADERS Meets the fourth Sunday every month from 5-6 pm. Our next gathering date is THIS SUNDAY at the church. Bring your 5th or 6th grader for fun and games! Contact Rosalie Sudowski with any questions.  

CHILD DEDICATION  The next ceremony is THIS SUNDAY, November 27 during service. Join us as we dedicate these children to the Lord. 

CHRISTMAS OFFERING We invite you to remember our church in your year-end giving. Our goal is to raise $25,000 and get 25 new automated monthly givers. Your gifts will be used to strengthen the ministry and further the mission of helping people become passionate, devoted followers of Christ. To give online, please visit pathwayswashpark.org.  

HOMELESS WINTER KITS Join us in our annual Christmas service project. This year we are
packing winter kits for the homeless. You can participate by bringing in supplies, helping us pack kits on Sunday, December 18, and picking up kits at our Christmas Eve service to give to someone in need. Contact Rosalie Sudowski for more information.

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION LUNCH All volunteers are invited to join us for a special luncheon on Sunday, December 4 from noon-1:00 pm. We appreciate your faithful service this past year!

WOMEN CONNECT will meet on Tuesday, December 6 from 6:45-8:30 pm for a special
Christmas celebration at Pomegranate Place. Please bring an appetizer to share.
