Christmas Shopping FYI
90 Days and counting - have you started your shopping yet? Now is the time to start. No crowds - weather still nice - make that list today and start watching the ads. My mother usually started her cookies for Thanksgiving the first week of November and froze them - just pulled them out of freezer and placed them in refrigerator to thaw a few days before needed. |
Gardening To Do Now
I am currently planting my lettuce, spinach, and kale for winter. If lightly protected on extremely cold days, these plants will handle temperature drops down into low 20's. I also have potatoes planted which I will protect with hay on bad days. Most of the time the tops may be bitten by cold weather but potatoes keep on growing. Onion and garlic like this weather time as well as English Peas. Enjoy. |
