30th Anniversary
We have just celebrated our 30th Anniversary of owning Gibson Pharmacy. In 1980, we bought the store from William Muegge. In 1986, we moved out of Gibson Discount Center and into our present location. So ... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US!!!
Unavailable Medicines
As of the writing of this newsletter, infant and children's bottles of Tylenol, Motrin, Benedryl, and Zyrtec as well as others are unavailable. If this is a need you have, we can compound these for your children - with a prescription from the doctor for your child. We can also put these medications into a gel to be rubbed on - such as an anti-histamine gel for severe allergic reactions. All of these do require a prescription, so talk to your doctor if this is a need we can help with.
Another FYI
My doctor gives me copies of my test results and lab work ups so I can have them with me should an emergency arise or I travel and need them. Any doctor can look at my file if needed and know my history. A good idea - ask your doctor for copies as you do tests and place them in a folder. Doctor and all info are right there in case needed later.

If you are currently taking a medication, especially if you have been on it for a while, and decide to discontinue it, please consult your doctor and pharmacist before doing so. The tapering off period for certain drugs can be a very structural thing. Certain drugs have very negative results if just stopped abruptly, such as blood pressure and anti-depressant drugs. So work out a plan for this with your health care people.
Flu Shots
Flu shots are in stock - Price is $25. Swine flu shot is included in with the regular flu shot this year.

New PB & J Wrap
Take one flour tortilla. Spread with peanut butter (or almond butter) spread on jelly or preserves of choice. I use strawberry preserves. Add a sliced and diced banana. Top with a drizzle of honey. Roll up like a jelly roll, slice on angle. Place in baggie if taking to school or work... Enjoy!

Chicken Wrap Sandwich
Start with a flour tortilla, softened. Spread with Thousand Island Dressing. Place 2 slices of sliced smoked chicken (from deli) on top. Add grated cheese, diced lettuce and diced tomato. Roll up like a jelly roll. Wrap them in plastic wrap. Refrigerate - can be made night before if needed. Slice at angle, not across. Place with plastic wrap into plastic bag to keep ends fresh. Can use other flavors of meat. I prefer ham and chicken.
