Dear Friends,

If the saying "April showers bring May flowers" is true, we are looking at a spectacular show just around the corner.  Hopefully you caught the super moon between the cloud bursts.

Our 500-hour training met last weekend, and we were impressed with everyone's stamina and positive attitudes.   Students got together for practice sessions, shared notes and photos, and traded useful links for internet research to support their yoga studies.  After our third weekend together, it's  clear we are starting to gel as a group.

We have opened an e-bookstore!  Please check out our website and you'll find a link to Amazon where all the books on our reference list are for sale.  We use 100% of the kick back from Amazon to seed our scholarship fund. If you have the opportunity to link to this page, or, better yet, buy your books there, every single purchase contributes to growing our scholarship fund.

Thinking about our 200-hour training in September?  There is still plenty of time to sign up, but note we've been receiving applications at a steady pace and this course might fill earlier that usual.  To help with your decision making process, we have scheduled an open house on Friday, May 20 (see details below).  This program is limited to 24 students.

Sincerely,
Theresa & Kathryn
Co-Directors, Pacific Yoga Teacher Training

Notes From Our 500-Hour Training

Pacific Yoga Image

One of the challenges facing yoga students is the use of Sanskrit language and its unusual vocabulary.  Although our intention is to become aware of our minds by calling attention to different states of being, the use of Sanskrit words can at times do the opposite and obscure our understanding.

Sometimes we don't realize that we regularly experience the states referred to in the Yoga Sutras.  In the whiteboard photo above, our Sanskrit instructor Kathryn and the 500-hour class discuss philosophy in a very pragmatic way.
