Dear Friends, There is nothing like watching yogis send us their applications one by one over the course of the year, meeting for the first time, and finally joining in "circle" together. Our 500-hour teacher training program began last weekend, as graduates from past Pacific Yoga trainings joined with graduates from other yoga schools to embark on a 12-month journey of yoga study and practice. Oh joy of joys! This group of committed yogis exhibits great diversity and talent. The yogic path is long and serpentine. We admit it takes "shraddha," or trust, to join a training program that asks for whole year-long commitment. It takes trust that one will finish the program, trust that we'll all get along, and also the recognition that the practice of yoga is an intimate one. The teacher and student get to know quite a bit about each other's abilities, bodies, and psyches. We look forward to the rewarding times ahead and promise to keep you posted on our progress. Believe it or not we already have applications in for our 200-hour program beginning in September! The application is available on our website. Please email or call us with your questions. We hope you can join us for a training in the future, share this with a friend, or attend one of our workshops. Sincerely, Theresa & Kathryn Co-Directors, Pacific Yoga Teacher Training |
