Greetings!

YOU made all of the above images possible.  You helped each of these communities have life-saving water because you went on Shower Strike with Well Aware in past years.  It is because of your sacrifice and support that we are able to provide clean water to those who have none in Kenya.  We thank you so very much!  Many hundreds of people in Kenya also thank you.

As you may have surmised, Shower Strike 2011 is fast approaching, and we genuinely hope that you will consider being a part of our event again.  It's now easier than ever to participate in this fundraiser, and this year will be our largest Shower Strike by far.  From July 24th until the 31st, Well Aware and our wonderful host, The Austin Cosmopolitan Rotary Club, as well as all of our beloved supporters will be all on Shower Strike numero tres!

How is it easier than before?

We now have a website dedicated to the event:  www.ShowerStrike.com, and Strikers can sign up there on their own in 2 minutes and be all set for Strike week.  You will have your own web page- complete with a funding progress thermometer!- and you can create your own URL and page info.  As soon as you're registered, you're on the list for info emails which will answer any questions you may have.

Will I have any fun?

As usual, we have a line-up of awesome events scheduled during Strike week, but the best part will be our free concert Launch Party.  You won't want to miss this one.

When:  Sunday, July 24th, 7pm
Where:  Antone's
What:  Grammy-nominated Lost Bayou Ramblers headlining band; "Austin's Funniest Person", Nancy Reed as emcee
More:  raffles, free tacos, drink specials, photo fun, Shower Striker survival kits, and our best Silent Auction yet!

Where will the funds I raise go?

We have several projects that we are currently trying to fund, and you can check them out here.  This year, you can actually select which project you would like your Striker contributions to fund!  Since you may be drawn to a particular project, we hope this option makes it more personal and meaningful to you.

But why do I want to do this again?

Well, we think you want to help us help people who need us!  But, there are also some prizes involved this year.  We are still working out the details, but we will have really great rewards for:
- The individual who raises the most
- The team that raises the most
- The quickest Shower Strike (for the individual or team who reaches their goal amount first)

But the biggest prize of all is knowing how much you have impacted the lives of people in desperate need of our help.  $1,000 will provide plentiful, pure water for 200 orphans in Mithini.  That is an incredible gift for such a minimal sacrifice.

Many of you have already signed up, and we thank you so much!  If you want to join and haven't yet, please do so soon, since we have already started sending out our weekly Striker info emails.  Sign up Today!

If you are unable to attend or participate, we hope you will consider passing this email along to a friend.  Our only obstacle is reaching enough people, but you can help with that.  You can also help by adding friends to our event on Facebook

Please let us know if you have any questions about Shower Strike 2011.  Thank you for your support.  We could not have completed our work so far in Kenya without you!

Sincerely,

Well Aware
