We Can Use Your Help!

As most of you who know us realize, each one of us sacrifices quite a bit of our lives and time, our own income, emotions, and, at times, our physical well-beings to make Well Aware a successful endeavor for those in need.  And we also probably have no business doing so, as each of us is either self-employed or on an hourly wage, and we often have a tough time making ends meet to be able to devote ourselves to the cause.  You will never hear us complain!  But, on rare occasions, we will send out an extra plea.

ALL of of our public donations go directly to the construction of the wells and facilitating this.  So, when we hop a plane to make sure our projects are being completed properly... it's out of pocket for us.

Thanks to generous sponsors, such as Zing Water, we have a portion of our airfare covered!  (We love Zing!)

But we're posting a quick note to everyone else, that if you purchase a water bottle or Tshirt (below), or Maasai bracelets while we're away, we can put that toward our airfare, too.  This appeal is a special exception so that the team who has worked tirelessly toward these efforts can be there to oversee the completion of life-saving wells!

Catch Some Eyes and Wear Your Tees!

This was a lame attempt at wordplay with the age-old advice, "Dot your "i's" and cross your "t's"."   Not great, sorry.

Nonetheless, these new Well Aware T-shirts are a great way to support the cause and spread the word!

January Newsletter
Greetings!
group pic
This will be a brief newsletter, since we'll be in the the air this time tomorrow on our way to Kenya to oversee the drilling and construction of the water well in the women's center that YOU helped us make happen!  Three of our officers and two volunteers will be in Nairobi and Oltinga for two weeks to document and supervise the drilling process, as well as to provide basic water well and sanitation training.  We will be meeting our drilling expert, Bobby Roberts, of Bee Cave Drilling, there.  He has already been on the ground there for two weeks mobilizing for us!  And, thanks to generous donors from around Austin, we'll also be delivering some soccer balls for the kids- thanks to my fabulous neighbors, Steve & Barbara!- and pencils and other learning tools to the women of the learning center.

We will take an obscene amount of video and still footage for all to see upon our return.  But if you don't want to wait until February, we'll be blogging every evening with updates on the project and any other adventures we're experiencing.

Our blog address is:  http://blog.wellawareworld.net

You can even sign up for automatic email alerts whenever we post a new blog here:  http://eepurl.com/bLLV

And, we wouldn't be Well Aware if we weren't cooking up some outrageous new projects in the next few month.  So, look for details on these shenanigans in our February newsletter, as well as a full report on the dig trip!

We know that we would not be able to provide these thousands of people with water without your ongoing encouragement, support and attention to our cause.  We and many, many more are deeply grateful.

Sincerely,
Well Aware

Beading and ornamental jewelry design is a major craft of the Maasai people. Much of the jewelry they wear is symbolic and, typically, each color and pattern has a significance.
