Nothing Better
by Rev. David Moyer, Wisconsin Conference Minister
 | Rev. David Moyer Conference Minister |
Joy dawned again on Easter Day, the sun shone out with bright array;
For when the Apostles hid in fear, the Risen Christ to them appeared.
O Jesus, Savior, Gentle One, come take our hearts to be your own,
That we may give you all our days, the willing tribute of our praise.
Greetings and the loveliest of Easter joys to each and all of you!
There is an old preacher's story. (I mean the story is old, not necessarily the preacher.) Like all preachers' stories, it may even have happened. read more> |
Watch Out for Social Security Scams
by Senator Herb Kohl
 As many people know, all Social Security beneficiaries must sign up for electronic payments by March 1, 2013. While this should make the system safer, quicker and more convenient it's still very important to protect yourself from potential scams.
Earlier this week I was contacted by a constituent after her monthly direct deposit Social Security check failed to show up in her bank account. It appeared as if someone might have fraudulently obtained her personal information and used it to divert her check into another bank account.

You will be a part of a growing group of young adults who have been transformed by these experiences and will provide you a new community on return. Housing continues to be a huge concern for the people of Honduras after the devastation left by Hurricane Mitch in 1998. Come spend a rewarding, eye-opening, unforgettable 11 days giving your time and energy to Honduran families in need. Included in our Forward in Faith commitment was affirming our neighbors in Latin America. Here is your opportunity to join our Wisconsin Conference UCC Work Team to Honduras in July 2012, in our efforts to accomplish this goal. Mike Krabath has led many mission trips to Honduras and will continue as the main leader on this trip. read more>

National Youth Event Registration Reminder
National Youth Event registration is available online through May 21. The Wisconsin Conference has a long history of making it possible for individuals from churches to be able to attend NYE. For this reason, we ask that when you register, you indicate that the group you are with is the "Wisconsin Conference". The only way to register is if you are part of a group and by registering as one group, it allows those youth who would not have been allowed to attned NYE to register. This is one way we can live out our covenantal relationship with one another. read more>
