Summary of this article

Here's another reminder that it's the little things each day that we do to keep the relationship and passion alive that are the most important for finding happiness.

This is from a survey in England of over 3,000 couples.

God bless your family and your marriage.

Four Kisses A Day Helps To Keep Love Alive

From www.confetti.co.uk

Kissing is great for your marriage.

A new survey out of the United Kingdom aligns closely with the secrets of successful relationships as prescribed in various Mars-Venus books.

In addition to four kisses a day, sharing two hobbies, having three cuddles every 24 hours, saying at least one 'I love you' a day and enjoying two romantic meals a month could also help ensure a lasting liaison.

British researchers have discovered that the husband and wife who will stay true to their 'til death us do part' vow will have met through friends and tied the knot after three and a half years together. This profile of the perfect marriage was compiled by the wedding planning website www.confetti.co.uk. On the site, more than 3,000 married adults were polled to discover the secrets of their success in staying together.

From this survey some interesting facts and numbers appeared. The most successful couples have sex two to three times per week; stay in touch during their workday through phone, emails, or text messages and; escape an average of twice a year for a romantic getaway.

It's interesting to note that much of this behavior was observed and recommended over fifteen years ago in Men Are From Mars, Women Are from Venus. The need to keep romance alive is one particular point of emphasis in the Mars-Venus formula for romantic success.

In Mars and Venus Together Forever, John Gray writes, "The high rate of divorce is not a sign that people are less interested in marriage. On the contrary, it indicates that we want more from our relationships than ever before. Men and women alike are dissatisfied because their marital expectations are much greater than in the past. We want a lifetime of love; we want lasting passion with one special person."

It would appear that those less happy relationships want those key elements that only certain relationships appear to have: regular kissing, and touching; plus frequent sex, and ongoing romance.

As for happily ever after, Dr. Gray speaks about the importance of monogamy as a necessary prerequisite to a lasting relationship. "As a woman ages, her ability to feel and express passion increases if she feels she can fully trust her partner to be there for her."

Dr. Gray concludes that "Just as romance is important to a woman, sexual gratification is important to a man. Just as communication and romance are the primary means for a woman to experience love, sex is the primary way for a man to connect with love and passion on an ongoing basis."

This survey is further evidence of what we in the Mars-Venus universe had long suspected:

The key to lasting happiness in a relationship is shared passion.

That passion must be cared for and nurtured just as one would care for a precious musical instrument. It thrives with care and attention and it ceases to function when ignored and neglected.

The lasting relationships are never ignored; they are cultivated and cared for.

It's not a magical formula, just one that takes time, care, and faithful devotion.
