June 2011 Newsletter
First issued: May 28, 2011
Greetings!

While I was poking around doing some research I found an article written in 1997, while it is a bit dated the results haven't changed very much. I just had to share some of Paul Vossen's data with you.

"Per capita olive oil consumption in Spain and Italy is around 47 cups per person. As a comparison, the UK consumes 0.88 cups, Germany 0.66 cups, and the USA 0.002 cups per person. The Spanish and Italians consume 24,000 times more olive oil than Americans do."

Interesting, huh?

Father's Day

Father's Day is June 21, 2011. It celebrates the contribution that fathers and father figures make in their children's lives. Common Father's Day gifts include sports items or clothing, electronic gadgets, outdoor cooking supplies and tools for household maintenance. Its time to think outside the box, Fathers are Foodies too! Particular favorites among our male customers are: Sicilian EVOO, Jalapeno EVOO, 25-year-old Balsamic Vinegar, Santa Barbara Seasoning Spice & Rubs, and Jalapeno Cheese Crackers.

Teachers & Coaches Gifts

Remember il Fustino when deciding on year-end gifts for teachers, counselors, and coaches. Just think how those boring leftovers (sited in bullet #3) could be transformed into a delicious lunch with the inclusion of an il Fustino EVOO.
  1. must stand above all students, yet be on their level
  2. must be able to do hundreds of things not connected with the subject being taught
  3. must run on coffee and leftovers
  4. must communicate vital knowledge to all students daily and be right most of the time
  5. must have more time for others than for herself/himself
  6. must have a smile that can endure through many difficulties

The initial taste of aged parmesan is followed up by the Zing of true, natural Jalapeņo pepper finely blended to keep those endorphins happy. One or two bites may not send you running for a beverage, but they do add up! Keep the Margaritas close at hand!

London Broil imageSicilian London Broil

The classic preparation made special with a touch of aged balsamic vinegar. London Broil is not a cut of beef, but instead a way to prepare it. London Broil is usually made with a top round steak, but can also be done with flank steak, sirloin steak or Tri-tip. It is also great served with a generous drizzle of il Fustino Aged Balsamic Vinegar during plating. The secrets to a great London Broil are a flavorful marinade and being sliced thinly against the grain. Leftover London Broil makes great cold roast beef sandwiches.

Grilled Vegetables imageClassic Grilled Vegetables

NO STRESS, great served hot off the grill or at room temperature.
