CVEP Celebrates Summer Healthcare Interns
This past Thursday, CVEP's Workforce Excellence celebrated the Health Career Connection internship program connecting local undergrads with paid healthcare internships. This paid internship program gave 18 local students jobs during the past summer at Coachella Valley healthcare sites. Many of the interns are studying to become doctors, nurses and public health leaders; others are exploring developing healthcare professions. Most importantly, all of the interns have committed to serving the Coachella Valley once they have completed their education. Very proud of these future Coachella Valley professionals and many thanks to the host sites for their participation and dedication to this program. |

100 Best Communities for Young People
The City of Indio was named one of America's Promise Alliance's 100 Best Communities for Young People presented by ING. The national award was given to Indio to recognize its outstanding and innovative work in addressing the high school dropout crisis and for its programs and services that make it an outstanding place for youth to live, learn and grow. Indio was honored as a 100 Best winner for a second time because of its comprehensive and cross sector approach to supporting children and youth. Read More....
