CVEP Client Awarded for Efforts in Kids Education
This past Monday CVEP client and resident at the Rabobank Regional Business Center, SMaRT Education was awarded a $25,000 Coachella Valley Spotlight grant presented by the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation. These are not the traditional legos you may be accustomed to - when assembled by students of the Science Math and Robotic Technology (SMaRT) Education program, these legos create mobile, functioning robots.
Students from schools throughout the valley engage in research, problem solving, and basic engineering skills through SMaRT Education after-school and summer programs. Leadership skills, teamwork participation and a better understanding of math, science and technology are benefits of these robotics platforms. |

COD to be Honored for Nursing Curriculum
This week the National League for Nursing (NLN) announced they will be presenting at their annual education summit the inaugural Hearst Foundations Award to College of the Desert for demonstrating exceptional integration of the innovative ACES (Advancing Care Excellence for Seniors) curriculum and resources. Energy Efficiency - Free Information Session
College of the Desert and Coachella Valley Association of Governments will be hosting an information session on the new home energy efficiency standards, incentives, and methods of compliance. Participants will learn about compliance with Title 24 and how businesses can take advantage of the incentives and rebates. If you are with a building or HVAC contracting firm, this is must know information. If you work with such a firm or are part of a city energy efficiency management program, please feel free to attend and pass this along to the contractors.
