Welcome Dr. Kinnamon
CVEP had a very busy week which started with a celebration at the Rabobank Regional Business Center. CVEP hosted a welcome party in honor of the new College of the Desert President, Dr. Joel Kinnamon. We had a great turn out as many of our stakeholders came to meet the new president. Under the direction of Dr. Kinnamon, we look forward to a continued strong partnership with our friends at COD.

CVEP Opens Satellite Office in Indio
On Wednesday of this week CVEP officially opened a satellite office in the east valley. Located in the Town & Country Center in Indio, this office will offer consulting and other business services. Team members from the CVEP programs CVSBDC and Workforce Excellence will frequently be utilizing this satellite office.
 A few of the guests who joined in the Indio Chamber ribbon cutting festivities included: Supervisor John J. Benoit, Indio Mayor Glenn Miller, Mayor Pro Tem Elaine Holmes, Council Member and representing Assemblyman Nestande's office Lupe Ramos Watson and Coachella Mayor and representing Senator Vargas, Eduardo Garcia. Thanks to all who showed up in the August heat for this celebration!

Celebrating Tomorrow's Health Care Professionals
Today Eisenhower Medical Center and CVEP's Health Career Connection partnership is celebrating the success of 17 local interns. The interns, all undergrads seeking careers in the health care profession, have immersed themselves in real-world practices of health care over the last eight weeks at 12 host organizations, including Eisenhower Medical Center which hosted three interns. Today's program includes a luncheon featuring key note speaker and CVEP Board member Ann Mostofi, R.N., Eisenhower's chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services who will be addressing "How Healthcare is Changing." This event is a real celebration of ensuring the health care pipeline of tomorrow is filled!
