This past Wednesday CVEP held its Annual Investor Meeting where we discussed the successes over the past year and defined goals for the upcoming year. We also installed 46 returning and new board members for the 2012-13 year (click here for a list of Board members).  A highlight from the meeting included the announcement that CVEP was involved in adding or retaining a total of 3,224 jobs in the Coachella Valley, including both direct and indirect jobs, for a total economic impact of $479,222,000. We look forward to working with our new Board led by Chairman Tom Davis, of Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. Thank you all for your commitment to continuing the success of CVEP!

This week a contingent of Coachella Valley teachers embarked on a Workforce Excellence program that had teachers from the valley's three school districts the academic equivalent to a student intern in the field of renewable energy.  Throughout the summer the faculty externs will visit green energy fields and innovative utility production plants for a first-hand look at real-world business applications, an experience that can be taken back to the classroom.  This week the teachers visited three valley cities - Coachella, Palm Desert and Desert Hot Springs - to learn what they are doing in residential and civic conservation, energy utilities, water and public works.  The program is in partnership with CVEP's Workforce Excellence and College of the Desert.
