CVEP's Q3 ROI Update
This week CVEP reported an ROI update to our investors, the numbers are very encouraging and reflect the successes our regional economic development organization can accomplish when we all work together. CVEP has been very successful the last 3 quarters and is realizing its goal of becoming a one-stop shop for local business ownersand community leaders. Not only is CVEP developing an educated workforce in the Coachella Valley, but we are helping companies add jobs for these young people.
- 13 Company Clients have added or retained jobs in Q3 making a total of 45 companies adding jobs since July 1.
- These same companies added 489 direct jobs in Q3 for a total of 1440 direct jobs since beginning of the Fiscal year.
- 2,554 direct and indirect jobs have been added by Client Companies since July 1, making an economic impact of over $245M.
- Rabobank Regional Business Center has hosted 3,172 business visitors.
- Coachella Valley Innovation Hub expands to 10 companies.

Last weekend The Desert Sun featured an article written by author and "international expert on talent, training, careers, and education related to business and economic development," Mr. Edward E. CVEP Calls ArtsOasis to Center Stage
For months, ArtsOasis has led a quest with support from CVEP to organize and fund a ground-breaking project to identify the players and size the pieces that make up the region's creative economy cluster. To get at it, ArtsOasis and CVEP solicited the help of investor-partners to commission a baseline study of the creative cluster by Wheeler's Market Intelligence. The landmark study, entitled the "Creative California Desert,'' will be unveiled Tuesday, May 8, on-stage at the McCallum Theatre, at a gathering bearing the theme, "Putting the Pieces Together".... read more. CVEP's competition encourages more valley students than ever before to apply for college financial aid
Building upon the remarkable success of last year's inaugural "Battle of the High Schools" - the competition to see which schools will have the highest percentage of high school seniors complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) -CVEP's second annual competition has encouraged more valley students than ever before to seek college financial aid. A number of local high schools reported completion percentages above 80 percent, and one reporting as high as nearly 92 percent of seniors completing the form. Join CVEP and our Workforce Excellence team for a Check Presentation Ceremony to celebrate these winning schools in the FAFSA Competition. The celebration will be held at the College of the Desert on Wednesday, April 25th at 10:30 a.m. in the Peggy and Donald Cravens Student Services Center.
