CVEP Assists in Job Shadow Day

This past Tuesday, CVEP's Workforce Excellence and Cathedral City High School's Health and Environmental Academy of Learning (HEAL) connected students with local career possibilities by taking them onsite to meet local industry professionals in the community for Job Shadow Day. The goal of these work-based learning opportunities is to help students develop interests that will lead to productive, satisfying careers, and to provide them with the tools to succeed in the future workforce through relevant teaching, while promoting awareness of and investment in their community.

In collaboration with industry partners, students will observe surgery at JFK Memorial Hospital, learn about sustainability efforts at hospital sites and Burrtec, visit biomass plants, Lifestream, The Braille Institute, and Coachella Valley Water District, to name a few.  Coverage of the event can be watched by clicking on the following links - KPSP Local 2,  KESQ  and  The Desert Sun.
